Books 2005
December 27th, 2005
These are the books I read in 2005. Looking back on it now, I was pretty fixated with the political climate, and spent most of the year spending my “free time” trying to de-program myself from the bombardment of propaganda that I have been fed for thirty plus years.
Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace - a great, quick read
Sorrows of Empire -
A People’s History of the United States: 1492-Present - one of the best books I have ever read
The Souls of Black Folk - very insightful
The Prosperous Few and the Restless Many
Lies My Teacher Told Me
Manufacturing Consent
Bin Laden, Islam and America’s New “War on Terrorism” - extremely informative, I read it in an afternoon
Live in a Better Way - the first step to enlightment
Invisible Man - a classic, for sure
When the Buck Stops With You - good for business leaders
Media Control - change your paradigm in a couple of hours
The Culture of Fear
How to Practice The Way to a Meaningful Life - almost a daily read
Hegemony or Survival - classic Chomsky
Terrorism and War
Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them - Al Franken slams everybody
The Best Democracy Money Can Buy - I read the bulk of this while waiting for jury duty
Unholy Alliance
